Pick the Perfect Date

Don’t choose a date too close to the expected due date as bubs can, and do, arrive early! The rule of thumb is to hold the baby shower 6-8 weeks before the due date, with the invites sent 4-6 weeks prior to the event itself to give guests enough notice to lock the special day in their diaries.

Choose a Colour Theme

If the gender has already been revealed then most people opt for a pink theme for a girl or blue for a baby boy. If the gender is still under wraps, neutral colours like yellow or orange are a safe choice or even keep it pure white for a classic neutral vibe.

The Invite List is Important

The invite list should be the group of women the mum-to-be holds dearest. Think family members and close friends or work colleagues. Nowadays it’s less taboo for men to come along too, and sometimes the dad-to-be may arrive a little later with male family members or close friends to share the fun. There are no hard and fast rules, its your event so choose the people you want to celebrate with!





I just wanted to send out thanks and compliments. Our function yesterday was amazing, both the food and venue were very impressive. We had so many comments from our guests on both how delicious the meal was and the great venue. Baptiste and his staff were excellent. Couldn't be happier with the day.

I had a great experience at the DOG last weekend. i had booked outside however due to the cold weather the team changed the booking at the very last minute and set our group of 20 up with a new spot indoors. Our older guests were very impressed with the refurbishment of the hotel.We were very happy with the attentiveness and help of your Manager on the night....can't remember his name but seemed to have a French accent. Also bar staff good, particularly the young woman who came out from the bar and helped us during the night in various ways.
