The Dog's First Birthday

We're celebrating our birthday with a 16 Tap Takeover!

New South Wales' largest craft beer venue, The Dog Hotel in Randwick, will be celebrating its first birthday in style on Friday 9 December with one of the state's most awarded breweries taking over the taps and launching a special collaboration beer. 

16 of the venue's 50 taps will be pouring Sydney Brewery's finest drops from opening until sold out, uncluding the Surry Hills Pils, Darlo Dark, Glamarama Summer Ale, Sydney Cider and Alter Ego Oatmeal Stout. In celebration of the special occasion there will be a one-off collaboration brew, Light Rail Ale, in a nod to Randwick's future transport links. The American-style steam ale has a light fruitiness that's clean, crisp, very easy to drink and just $5 a schooner all day long. 

Other specials throughout the day will include the Paddo Pale for $6.50 a schooner, $8 a pint or $16 a jug. As well as $4 schooners of Coogee Kolsch from 4-6 pm. Head brewer, Michael Capaldo, will be on site from 6pm to talk through his best brews and give advice to any novices.

On the food menu, there will be a special $9.90 Fish and Chips or motherwatering $15 Rotisserie Beef, Chicken or Pork from Upstairs Bistro upstairs. There will also be a competition to win a trip to the Hunter Valley including a two night stay at the Crowne, brewery tour, dinner and a tasting session valued at over $300. To enter, simply fill out a form in the venue and hang arund for the draw that evening. Contestants must be present at time of drawing to win.

Terms and Conditions 

Entry is valid by submitting a completed entry form to the barrel draw and attending the Dog’s First Birthday event at the time of draw on Friday 9 December.

The competition winner and elected companions must be over 18 years old. 

Strictly 1 entry per person.

Online entries must be received before 12pm on Thursday 8th December 2016 and paper entries must entered into the designated barrel stationed at The DOG Hotel, Randwick before 8 pm on Friday 9th December, 2016.

The winning entrant will be drawn by random barrel selection after 8 pm Friday 9th December and must be present in venue.

In the event that the selected entrant is not present in venue, other entries will be selected until a valid winner is found.

All eligible entrants must enter their name, mobile number, birthday and a valid email address and by entering, agree to sign up to The DOG Hotel database

Prize voucher can be collected from the manager on duty after 8 pm on Friday 9th December

Employees and the family of employees of any company associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter this competition.

Organisation of the date and time of the Hunter Valley prize is the responsibility of the competition winner and is to be organised directly with Sydney Brewery.

Prize Inclusions: The winner and 1 companion receive a night stay at the Crowne in the Hunter, including a brewery tour, a meal and a tasting session. Total value is $300.

The competition winner agrees that they may be filmed, photographed and/or interviewed and that their names and/or images may be used by The DOG Hotel for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.

No travel is included to or from the Crowne Hotel in The Hunter Valley. Meeting place and time to be arranged with a representative from Sydney Brewery. The DOG Hotel will provide the competition winner with the contact information of a Sydney Brewery contact to organise

No spending money is included.

Prize excludes any other traveller costs including, without limitation, travel insurance, incidentals, service charges, gratuities or expenses due to special requests or add-ons.

All prize inclusions must be redeemed in a single visit by 30th June, 2017. Unused portions of the prize are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for other services or cash.

Prize cannot be combined with any other offers. Rockfort Investments T/as The DOG Hotel does not facilitate and is not liable for any special requests, which may be accommodated directly with the merchant.

Prize not valid for commercial use, not for resale and not redeemable for cash.

The Sydney Brewery tour must be arranged with a Sydney Brewery representative at least 30 days before tour date, and is subject to availability.

7 days notice must be given in the case of cancellation or postponing tour, or prize will be void.

Prize is void in case of no-show. 

The competition winner and companion agree to abide by any additional rules and restrictions that Rockfort Investments or Sydney Brewery may require and violation of such additional rules and restrictions may result in additional charges and the cancellation of your prize.

I just wanted to send out thanks and compliments. Our function yesterday was amazing, both the food and venue were very impressive. I had a great experience at the DOG last weekend. i had booked outside however due to the cold weather the team changed the booking at the very last minute and set our group of 20 up with a new spot indoors. Our older guests were very impressed with the refurbishment of the hotel.We were very happy with the attentiveness and help of your Manager on the night....can't remember his name but seemed to have a French accent. Also bar staff good, particularly the young woman who came out from the bar and helped us during the night in various ways.
